Erosion is a track found on a mixtape that was purchased in a Boston thrift shop by YouTuber Sushi Squad Productions. They claimed that the mixtape said "BC Radio Mix 3" or "BCR Radio Mix" on the label. As the tape was purchased in Boston, it's been concluded that this is likely from either Boston College Radio (WZBC) or Babson College Radio (WBCR).

HISTORY

The song was originally posted to YouTube on 22 January 2022 by user Sushi Squad Productions, with the title "Erosion - Unknown Boston College Radio Indie Rock Song - Lostwave". OP claimed that they had found the song on a cassette mixtape in the Boston area labelled "BC Radio Mix 3".

Babson College didn't have a radio station in the 1990s and early 2000s, so Boston College Radio was selected as the most likely candidate.

However, on 21 June 2024, Discord user Niski discovered evidence that the song may have been recorded from satellite radio, and given that a low-power transmitter was installed on the Babson College campus on 26 February 1998, Babson College once again became a likely possibility.

Two days later, Niski contacted Eric McGlynn, the original Babson College radio manager. He said it reminded him of a local band called Shem, that we have yet to learn more about or successfully find.
