Shadows is the placeholder name for an unidentified gothic metal song, originally shared through P2P sites and forums. It is often falsely credited to Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish.

HISTORY

On 01 April 2007, Nightwish announced their upcoming album, "Faster Harder Nightwish" on their website, alongside a cover photo. This announcement was actually an April Fool's joke, as later clarified by the band. The album was not real and did not actually exist.

However, on 02 April 2007, "promo" versions of the album began to spread around Russian forums and P2P file-sharing networks. It consisted of 7 tracks, allegedly by Nightwish for the "upcoming" album. However, the songs themselves were clearly not Nightwish, but the misinformation began to spread.

On 16 February 2024, Reddit user Goliath109 made a post on r/Lostwave mentioning a Sonic AMV they had seen that used track 3 of the album, "Shadows". A day later, they reposted it to WatZatSong.
